Development of Rapid, Onsite Test for Bovine Mycoplasma Detection

Service Provider: The University of Adelaide

Summary: Development of a quick, reliable Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) for rapid detection of bovine Mycoplasma in cattle. The on-site test enables immediate, cost-effective diagnosis and prevents outbreaks by facilitating prompt specific treatment to reduce antimicrobial misuse and avoid resistance.

Benefits to Industry: Enhanced disease management by providing a rapid, reliable, and easy-to-use diagnostic tool, the LFA will enable early detection of Mycoplasma bovis infections.

Summary: The Cattle Industry Fund Board has preapproved the expenditure for small projects that provide benefit the industry. Unspent funds will be returned to the CIF at financial year end.
